Consult mentors, weigh options, and explore internal opportunities before considering a job switch.
The first thing you should do after identifying the cause is speak with your mentors within and outside the organization. Mentors from within will validate your reason to move is correct or suggest ways to meet your objectives staying within the organisation.
Mentors or friends will give you an outside in perspective.
Generally, it’s a flat world. Things are equally good or equally bad everywhere. You will have to adapt. If you are looking to change your area of work, say from Operations want to get into Supply chain or something similar, then your organization is the best to offer you that opportunity. A completely new organization wont offer you that switchover. Also, changing fields is not as easy in your advanced career stage as much as it is early on.
Unless the situation is irreparable, looking for opportunities outside of your employer is ill-advised.
Once you have weighed the pro’s and con’s, then it is time to begin your search activity.
